Getting started
What is this, and why am I being asked?
Your ESG assessment for Emirates Flight Catering is complete. The Improvement Plan is the follow-up step where you see your results and improve them. It lists the specific topics where evidence was missing or incomplete, tells you exactly what would close each gap, and lets you respond.
This is not a new assessment and not another questionnaire. It is your chance to improve your rating before it is finalized and shared with EKFC.
Access opens on Tuesday 1 September 2026 and your responses are due by Friday 25 September 2026. After that date no changes can be made, so it is worth starting early while help is still available.
What do I get out of doing this?
A better ESG risk rating, seen by your customer. Suppliers who complete their Improvement Plan typically improve their rating meaningfully, and the improved rating is what EKFC sees in their supplier overview. EKFC values active engagement from its suppliers and will publicly recognise active participants and top performers in this programme. Doing nothing means your current rating stands as-is.
How long does it take?
About 1 hour if you mostly have your documents ready, and up to 3 hours if you need to collect new evidence. You do not need to do it in one sitting: everything saves automatically, so you can answer two topics today and the rest next week. Many topics take under a minute to answer.
I saw a security check before the login page. Is that normal?
Yes. You may see a "verify you are human" step before signing in. It is a standard security measure protecting the platform. Complete it and log in as usual.
I cannot log in, or my link expired. What do I do?
Access links are typically valid for around 24 hours, so it is worth acting on them the day they arrive. If yours has expired, contact us through the platform chat or at info@metisesg.ai and we will send a fresh one.
Also check your spam and junk folders, and your company's email quarantine, as security systems sometimes hold our emails. If your company's IT controls block hosted platforms, tell us and we will work with your IT team.
Can I change who handles this at our company?
Yes. Each supplier has one login owner. To change it, email info@metisesg.ai with the correct name and email address and we will update the account.
Colleagues can be kept in copy on communications, and internally you can share topics with your HSE, HR, quality or compliance colleagues before answering.
Understanding your results
My rating says "Very High". Should I be worried?
No. Very High risk is the normal starting point for most suppliers in their first cycle, because the rating is built only on the documents provided so far. Missing evidence reads as risk. That is exactly what the Improvement Plan fixes: as you provide responses and documents, your rating improves.
Think of the current rating as your starting line, not a verdict.
What do the percentages next to my rating mean?
They are your current scores per area (Environmental, Social, Governance). Higher is better. The badge (for example "Very High") is your risk band, which updates after your submission is reviewed.
Doing the work
What exactly do I have to do?
Three steps, repeated per topic:
- Pick a topic from the list.
- Choose your response from the dropdown. For L2 and L3, attach supporting documents.
- When the topic's banner turns green, it is done. Answer all topics, then press Review & Submit once.
The counter at the top shows how many topics you have answered.
What do the response options mean?
| Response | Meaning | Documents needed | When to pick it |
|---|---|---|---|
| L0: We cannot address this | This topic is not something you can act on now | None | Honest answer when something is out of reach. Takes seconds |
| L1: We plan to address this | You intend to close this gap | None | You have plans but nothing documented yet |
| L2: We have an updated policy document to share | You have a written policy covering this | Your policy document | The policy exists, upload it |
| L3: We have the policy and proof we apply it | You have the policy AND records showing you follow it | Policy plus proof (records, logs, reports) | The strongest answer and the biggest rating improvement |
L0 and L1 are legitimate answers. They need no documents and take under a minute. An honest L0 is better than no answer: it counts as engagement and keeps the topic tracked. L2 and L3 need uploads and are what improve your rating most.
What if we cannot fix something right now?
Say so. Pick L0 (we cannot address this) or L1 (we plan to address this). Both take under a minute, need no documents, and are counted as a complete answer. Nothing on the platform punishes honesty; unanswered topics are the only thing that cannot help you.
Some topics may also feel less relevant to your business. That is expected, and it is exactly what L0 is for: answer honestly and move on.
Do I have to upload all my documents again?
No. Everything you uploaded during the evaluation has been retained in your document library and was considered in your assessment. To use one for a topic, open Upload Documents, tick the box in the "Applicable Policy Document" (or "Applicable Proof Document") column next to it, and press Save. One click, no re-uploading.
How do I attach a document to a topic?
Open the topic, choose L2 or L3, and press Upload Documents. In the window that opens:
- To attach an existing document: tick the checkbox in the "Applicable Policy Document" or "Applicable Proof Document" column, then press Save.
- To add a new file: drag it into the drop zone or press "browse documents", then tick its box and save.
The topic's banner turns green when everything required is attached.
One caution: the Retire option permanently removes a document from your library. Only use it for documents that no longer apply to your business.
What counts as "proof we apply it" for L3?
Records that show the policy operates in practice. Examples: training attendance logs, payroll records, inspection or audit reports, waste transfer notes, grievance registers, PPE issue logs. Each topic lists its typical proof documents right in the topic view, so check there first.
We are ISO certified or EcoVadis rated. Is that enough?
Certificates and ratings are strong, relevant evidence and you should upload them. They do not automatically demonstrate every specific policy or implementation record the topics ask about, so attach topic-specific documents alongside them where you have them.
Do I have to finish in one sitting?
No. Everything saves automatically the moment you select or upload. Close the browser whenever you like and continue later. Only pressing Review & Submit finalizes anything.
What does the green banner mean?
That topic is done: your response is set and any required documents are attached. Your goal is simple: turn every banner green before Friday 25 September 2026.
Submitting
When do I press Review & Submit?
Once, when you have answered every topic you intend to answer. If topics are still unanswered, the platform will warn you before submitting, because unanswered topics cannot improve your rating.
Please note: submission is final. Once you press Review & Submit you cannot go back in and change anything, so check every topic, every response and every document before you confirm.
What is the "potential score improvement" screen?
Before you confirm, the platform shows the maximum improvement your scores can reach based on what you have provided. Higher is better. If you want a bigger potential improvement, press Revise, go back and attach more supporting documents before confirming. This is your last chance to change anything, because confirming is final. Your actual updated rating is calculated after review.
I submitted by mistake. Can I undo it?
No. Submission is final. The platform treats your submission as your final answer, and there is no way to unlock a plan once it has been submitted. Please review every topic, every response and every document before you press Review & Submit.
If you did submit in error, write to info@metisesg.ai and the team will advise you on what is possible. Do not rely on this. Treat Review & Submit as the point of no return.
What happens after I submit?
Your documents are reviewed and your rating is re-assessed against the evidence you provided. Reviews take place after the Friday 25 September 2026 deadline, and updated ratings are then published in the platform. You will be notified when yours is ready. EKFC sees the same updated result.
Will I get a confirmation that I submitted?
Yes. The platform sends you a confirmation email once you press Confirm & Submit. If you have not received it, check your spam folder, then contact us and we will verify your submission status.
What happens if I do nothing by Friday 25 September 2026?
Your current rating stands as assessed and is shared with Emirates Flight Catering as-is. There is no penalty beyond that, but missing evidence reads as risk, so an unanswered plan almost always means a worse rating than you could have had. After 25 September no changes can be made, so complete your plan early and make full use of the support while it is available. Even 30 minutes of honest answers improves the picture.
Your results
Who sees my results?
Your results are seen by Emirates Flight Catering only. They are not shared with other suppliers or with third parties. How EKFC works with its suppliers is set out in its Supplier Code of Conduct.
